Year 5 Croxteth Park Visit, by Mrs Harris

Date: 3rd May 2023 @ 11:01pm

Year 5 - Croxteth Park visit

As part of Year 5's learning in Science linked to animal life cycles and processes the children visited Croxteth Country Park Farm

As part of their trip, they were able learn about how the animals were cared for and looked after throughout each stage of their life cycle and were then able to take part in some of the day to day activities involved in caring for the animals and assisting them with some of their key life processes in order that they might grow healthy and strong

Whilst also at the Country Park, the children went on a tour of the beautiful Victorian Walled Gardens attached to Croxteth Manor House and learnt about some of the flowers and plants within them. They then sketched aspects of the garden as inspiration for their descriptive writing in English

Imagine That!, by Mrs Schultz

Date: 23rd Apr 2023 @ 9:54pm

At the end of the Spring Term, Year 2 enjoyed a fabulous trip to Imagine That! Science and Discovery Centre, In Liverpool. They explored 4 different zones over the course of the day. We began the day in the Science Zone where we, amongst many other things, explored magnets, delved into a light and shadow room, made giant bubbles, played in a sand and water area and made snow!

We then moved into the Slime factory where the children were shown some exciting experiments and chemical reactions before making bath bombs and slime. They were then given the opportunity to play with the giant slime trays!

After that, we moved onto the Art Beatz room. The children delighted in making music on the music wall, painted magnets, made pictures using paint dabbers, produced 3D pin art, weaved ribbons and even painted a car!

The final zine was the Imagination Village where the children could be who we they wanted to be; vets, weather reporters, builders, fire fighters, performers, shop keepers and chefs!

We had an amazing time, and couldn't wait to write a recount of our adventures when we got back to school. Thanks to all our parent helpers, we hope you had as much fun as we did!

Well done Esme and Caden, by Mrs Harris

Date: 20th Apr 2023 @ 9:13pm

Esme and Caden have been very busy saving a bird of pray! ???

This beautiful creature was found injured after being hit by a vehicle. Due to some fast action thinking, the buzzard was quickly taken to the nearest vets to get checked out. We have had updates informing us that she had no broken bones but did have an infection in her eye. She is being transferred to Wrexham to be rehabilitated when she will then be released back into the wild to join her family ???

F2 - Friendship and Forgiveness - Miss Kealey's Class, by Mrs Harris

Date: 26th Mar 2023 @ 10:25pm

F2 - RE Friendship and Forgiveness

On Friday in our RE lessons, we thought about friendship and forgiveness. Through a story about Freddy Teddy struggling to share at a picnic with his friends, the children considered how to resolve conflict in friendships through saying sorry and asking for / receiving forgiveness. Following this, the children engaged in a range of activities to consolidate the learning.

-the children brought in their favourite teddy’s from home to show then how we can be good friends in our class

-they took part in a teddy bears picnic

-they drew around their hands and wrote the names of 5 special friends

-they practised writing the letters in the word ‘friends’

-they spent some calm, quiet time reading stories to their teddies

We ended our day by having a snack together with our teddies and reflecting on the ways we can be good friends.

F2 - Friendship and Forgiveness - Mrs McLaren's Class, by Mrs Harris

Date: 26th Mar 2023 @ 9:35pm

F2

On Friday our children brought in their teddies. We read a story about a teddy being unkind at a picnic and how his friends forgave him. We then went off and worked together. We spoke about how we show forgiveness to others and how we share and show kindness,

The children had so much fun and were excellent at talking about their feelings. Our teddies had so much fun too and were very well behaved all day.

We also made sandwiches during cooking with the help of our teachers.

We chose the toppings we wanted, buttered our bread and cut them.

Farm day, by Mrs McLaren

Date: 23rd Mar 2023 @ 6:04pm

This week the children enjoyed taking part in a farm experience. We started our day by milking some cows, collecting eggs in the egg run, planting seeds, washing machinery and feeding and looking after our pony.

The children really enjoyed working together and had so much fun exploring the courtyard farm area. The children built a pen for the pony so that it wouldn't escape. They also transported fruit and vegetables to the kitchen where they cooked fresh meals for the farm workers. We all enjoyed using our imagination. It was so much fun working together just like the animals in our story Farmer Duck.
