The Icon's Pilgrimage to Holy Cross Primary School, by Miss Kealey
Date: 6th Oct 2025 @ 1:46pm
It has been a joy to have the Jubilee icon with us during the last few days. The image of Mary visiting her cousin Elizabeth reminds us of Mary's faith and service. Today, we pilgrimaged to Holy Cross Primary School to hand over the icon to their parish community. Our Year 4, 5, and 6 School Council representatives joined Fr Michael for a special liturgy reflecting on the Visitation.
Pilgrims of Hope - Jubilee Icon, by Miss Kealey
Date: 1st Oct 2025 @ 7:50pm
Today we had the great joy of welcoming the Jubilee Icon to our school. It was wonderful to share this special moment with St Werburgh’s, as they joined us to hand over the icon. Together, as part of our diocesan family, we celebrated the words of The Visitation and reflected on how we can say “yes” to God, just as Mary did. It was a beautiful occasion of peace, unity and joyful singing.
The Jubilee Icon will remain with us in our Church until Monday, when we will help it continue its pilgrimage to the next school, Holy Cross.
Over the next two days, each class will have the opportunity to visit the Church, spend time with the icon and reflect on the important message it carries.
We also warmly invite our families and wider parish community to view the icon. It will be available to see following morning Mass, and Fr Michael will be delighted to welcome you.

New to Year 3!, by Miss Kealey
Date: 19th Sep 2025 @ 4:45pm
Year 3 have settled into the juniors incredibly well. It’s been a fantastic few weeks, filled with lots of learning, creativity and fun!
We’ve spent time getting to know each other, created some beautiful artwork and taken part in a wonderful collective workshop. The children have shown a great attitude throughout — sensible, respectful, and ready to learn.
Year 3 should be SO proud of themselves for the way they’ve started this new chapter. We’re all excited to see what the rest of the term brings!
Year 3 Get Creative with Cave Art!, by Miss Kealey
Date: 19th Sep 2025 @ 4:40pm
As part of our Art topic 'Cave Art', we’ve been learning all about how people used to create art thousands of years ago during the Stone Age. We looked at caves from around the world and chatted about how cave art is similar and different to the art we make today.
We also thought about how tricky it must have been to draw on bumpy, rocky walls, and how that would affect the pictures. In class, we had a go at shading using a value scale, to see how the pressure we use can change how dark or light the colour looks.
Then came the best part! We headed outside to the playground and created our own cave art-style drawings! We focused on things that are important to us, just like people did in the past.
We had so much fun being artists and learning at the same time!

Year 3 - Holy Communion Celebration Mass and Party, by Miss Kealey
Date: 24th Jun 2025 @ 8:49pm
Today, our Year 3 children came together to celebrate a very special milestone — their First Holy Communion. It was a joyful day shared with friends, siblings and the wider school family.
We began the day with a beautiful Mass with Fr Micheal, reflecting as a school community on the sacred sacrament the children have recently received. It was a wonderful opportunity to pause, pray, and give thanks for this important step in their faith journey.
In the afternoon, the celebration continued with a party! The children enjoyed looking through photos from their Holy Communion, drawing and writing about their special day and taking time to relax with playdough, LEGO, and a film. Afterwards, we shared party food — with plenty of cake, of course!
To round off the warm and joyful day, the children had an extra playtime outside. It was a lovely way to end a celebration filled with fun, reflection, and togetherness. The children truly enjoyed marking this meaningful occasion with their peers and siblings.
Congratulations to all of our Year 3 pupils on their First Holy Communion — we are so proud of you!

Year 5 Croxteth Park Farm, by Mrs Harris
Date: 28th May 2025 @ 7:16pm
Year 5 – Croxteth Country Park Visit (Part 3)
As part of their Science learning on animal life cycles and key life processes, Year 5 had a wonderful visit to Croxteth Country Park Farm. The children explored how animals are cared for at every stage of their development and even had the opportunity to get hands-on, assisting with some of the daily tasks involved in nurturing healthy, thriving animals.
In addition to their time on the farm, the children also enjoyed a guided tour of the stunning Victorian Walled Gardens at Croxteth Manor House. Here, they learned about a variety of flowers and plants, using their observations as inspiration for sketching and descriptive writing activities in English.
A memorable and enriching experience all round!

Year 3 Sacramental Preparation, by Mrs Harris
Date: 19th May 2025 @ 8:45pm
Year 3 Sacramental Preparation
Today we explored what ‘The Mass’ is in preparation for making our First Holy Communion. We reflected on how our Catholic Community celebrate the love that Jesus has for us.
We also thought about who might need our prayers in our local area and global families and wrote some of our own bidding prayers.
