This week in Thematic we have been learning about different types of animals. We created animal masks and learnt a dance to the song 'I Just Can't Wait To Be King'. We loved performing our dance to our families and friends this afternoon. Thank you to all who could attend, we had a great afternoon!

Year 4 have been learning all about Judaism this week. Today they focused in the celebration of Hanukkah. The children enjoyed acting out the story of Hanukkah, doing freeze frames, writing the story, making a menorah, making Hanukkah cards, making a dreidel, playing the dreidel game, tasting food, designing their own Synogogue and signing songs! Your children also know many facts about the history of Judaism; quiz them and see!

Year One enjoyed their Christmas party yesterday and proved themselves to be fantastic dancers at our disco. After an exciting day the children were surprised with a visit from Father Christmas himself.

F2 had a brilliant time at their Christmas Party today! We met Santa Claus, had a disco in the hall, played some fun party games and even had some yummy party food. Thank you to everyone, for such a festive day!

F2 have had so much fun at their Christmas Party Day today! We have enjoyed lots of festive activities, including a party with games and food, a disco in the hall and we even met Santa! The children worked very hard preparing for their party by deciding what food and games they would like and making hats and placemats. Thank you all for such a fantastic day!

Year 3 had a brilliant afternoon working with The Denbigh Workshop as part of our Wildlife Connections work with Chester Zoo. We learnt about the different ways we can support wildlife conservation in our own communities and why native species, such as hedgehogs and bees, are under threat. Thomas in Y3AM said "I learnt that if you find a poorly hedgehog you can feed them some catfood and water, and keep them warm." Riley in Y3RW said "I learnt that the weeds in your garden are good for hedgehogs and bees."

A huge thankyou to the team at One Day Creative who brought volcanoes and earthquakes to Birkenhead this afternoon. Year 4 loved acting out different scenarios and it was a great kinaesthetic way to bring our learning to life!

Year 5 have had a fantastic time at the London Chess Classic today, winning 2 medals.
They have been to Buckingham Palace, Hamleys toy store, Nando’s for dinner and are currently on their way back in first class!!!

We have been learning about native animals during our workshops with Claire from Chester Zoo. We talked about what dangers are threatening the habitats of our native animals.
Year One have realised the importance of picking up litter so that it doesn't affect our local animals. The children enjoyed litter picking around our playground.

Year 6 were lucky enough to participate in a Peace workshop this week. The children learnt the story of Sadako (she is remembered through the story of one thousand origami cranes she folded before her death) the cranes today signify peace.
The children then had a go of making their own origami cranes. It was a lovely afternoon with a powerful message.

Year 6 have started an exciting project this week in deisgn technology. They have all been very busy learning to sew. It has been a challenge but one they have enjoyed.

We had a fantastic day today dressed as elves! Whilst having fun, we remembered how important it is to help charities like the Alzheimer’s Society who support individuals and their families suffering with dementia. We also learnt about how important it is to continue research into dementia in order to hopefully find a cure ❤️.

Year 2 have been studying Della Robbia Pottery. We visited The Williamson Art Gallery and admired the colours and patterns used. We were fascinated by what some of the pottery was used for!!
Back at school we designed and made some of our own using clay! It was really fun!
