Key Stage 1 Hub 2026 - 2027

Welcome to the EYFS and KS1 Hub. 

We are a small class with a higher staff ratio. We currently have 7 children in our class and 3 adults. Staff include Miss Platt (teacher) and two teaching assisstants, Miss Roberts and Mrs Liddicoat. 

We focus on our communication skills through an apapted curriculum. All our learning is adapted for different communication styles, including the use of makaton and core boards.

Our classroom is equipped with light boards, swings and much more for our sensory seekers. 

Essential class routines 

• PE is on Tuesdays. Your child is welcome to come in their PE clothes, please speak to their teacher at the door if there are any probelms with this as we understand a change in routine can cause upset. 
• Children must bring a named, reusable water bottle daily.
• We encourage you to bring in any of their favourite snacks.

Learning curriculum topics

• Phonics: We are currently focusing on phase 2 phonics.
• The world about me: People and food. 
• My independence: Dressing/undressing.
• My physical wellbeing: Healthy eating. 
• Other topics include: Art, music, PE, cooking, outdoor school and computing.
